Microblading, also known by a variety of names such as embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and hair like strokes, is a form of permanent makeup that is used to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. The brow so created looks very natural without going through any surgical procedure.

Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, and cover gaps or fill-in over plucked brows non-surgically. It is an extremely meticulous process that takes around two hours to complete. Each microblading stroke is applied individually, allowing the control of the shape, color and density of the completed eyebrows.

The treatment begins with first marking the desired shape of the eyebrow. The next step includes the choice of colours which is patient specific and usually is picked to complement the hair colour and skin tone. Individual tattoo strokes or 'feathers' are made in the area to plot the shape and style requested.

Microblading is a tattoo and as all other tattoos, will fade depending on the pigment used, the environment and skincare products used. Microblading, although semi-permanent, lasts between 6 – 18 months if proper aftercare instructions are maintained.

This is a very safe procedure and can be done in any age group and in people having medical issues too. The most common complications include misapplication of the pigment, pigment migration and colour change of the tattoo.
